Get Healthy Stay Healthy Newsletter 001

Get Healthy–Stay Healthy Community

With Synergy Worldwide

Newsletter 001

Welcome to the first newsletter which is being sent to people who have attended a Get Healthy–Stay Healthy event as well as customers, Synergy team members and leaders.

The aim of the newsletter is to give you more information on health and wellness and our key messages from our research and the feedback we are getting from the new Get Healthy-Stay Healthy talks. We will also recommend further reading and links should you wish to explore and further expand your knowledge on key aspects of health and wellness.

Our inspiration

“The doctor of the future, will give no medicine but will interest his patients in

the cause and prevention of disease and the care of the human frame”

Thomas Edison 1847 – 1931

“Let thy food be thy medicine and let thy medicine be thy food”

Hippocrates 460 – 370BC

We in the Get Healthy–Stay Healthy community are inspired by these two quotations. They are the driving force we need to take the Get Healthy–Stay Healthy message to the general public, because it is clearly not happening, we are currently doing the opposite, hence all the problems we now have in the 21st Century with Cardio vascular disease, obesity, diabetes, dementia and mental health issues.

Examples, 371 million diabetics worldwide in 2012 – 5% of the world population. (International Diabetes Federation).   Currently there are 30% more obese than malnourished people worldwide (World Health Organisation) 20 years ago it was the opposite.

We had our first Get Healthy-Stay Healthy meeting in Norwich last week when the topic for discussion was Microbiome and Heart Health. Everyone in the room was also eligible for a free artery age test where we measured brachial and central blood pressures and also the arterial stiffness value called Augmentation Index (AI). With these figures we can extrapolate artery and heart age.

Key messages from the meeting

The science is in, we now know that your microbiome is the major part of your immune system and it influences virtually every aspect of your physical health and mental health.  Remember we are a superorganism living in harmony with the 100 trillion micro-organisms that live on us and inside us.

So here is the new mantra “it’s not what you eat it is what they eat”, (the microbes in your gut), know it and respect it and you may need to change your lifestyle to achieve it. And if you do you will be able to lead a healthier and potentially longer life!

Your microbiome loves veg, lots and lots of green vegetables and this is one of the reasons why scientists are now recommending that we have 10 portions of fruits and vegetables a day and not the 5 as recommended in the past (approx. 30% of population have their 5-a-day

Your granny was right, cook and eat real food.

Detoxing and resetting your microbiome with prebiotics and probiotics are going to be the new ground zero for many people who want to improve their overall wellbeing. Synergy’s recently introduced Purify Kit has been designed to do exactly this.

Recommended ReadingThe Microbiome Solution by Dr Robynne Chutkan

Here is the powerful quote from Dr Chutkan that summarises perfectly our message for our first newsletter.

“Overuse of antibiotics, chlorination of the water supply, processed foods full of chemicals and hormones, microbe-depleting pesticides, increasing rates of Cesarean sections- have ravaged our microbiomes, diminishing the total number of organisms as well as the diversity of species.

The result is an increase in a wide range of modern plagues, including asthma, allergies, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, obesity, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, and heart disease. The rise of these diseases is inextricably intertwined with the full-on assault on our microbiome resulting from our super-sanitized lifestyle.”
